We are living in a digital age where technology plays a major role in our student’s lives. Coding and programming are essential to the digital tools we are using on a regular basis in our classrooms. As a result of this everyday use, software and hardware engineers are in high demand in the tech field. Schools are recognizing that both technology-related devices and coding are integral parts of our lifestyles. Incorporating coding into curriculum as a building block, helps kids understand how technology works and how to utilize its potential, as well as possibly a future career in digital technology. Using code across all curriculum can keep students engaged in activities, while meeting Learning Targets and new skills. We will discuss the benefits of teaching code in the classroom and identify teacher and student code-friendly sites for all classrooms.
